Herb Alpert School of Music, University of California, Los Angeles
This Memorandum of Understanding was entered into on 5th January 2018 between the Department of History, PSMO College Tirurangadi, Tirurangadi PO, Malappuram and Prof. ( Adjunct) Amy Catlin Jairazbhoy, Herb Alpert School of Music, University of California, Los Angeles to collaborate together in an exchange of knowledge in relation to Mappila culture, including Mappila sung poetry and performing arts. This will enable the students and faculties from the PSMO College to conduct research on Mappila performative traditions by using ethnomusicological and anthropological methods of applied ethnomusicology and participational action research (PAR). By integrating deeper knowledge and practical experience with local Mappila culture as it is practised today, will also promote cultural interaction among the students and with local practitioners. Besides the collaborative activities, both the first party and second party would employ the historical method in order to understand the underlying origins of the traditional yet evolving Mappila culture and its associated performative traditions of sacred music, dance, and sung poetry.
New York University Abu Dhabi
This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into on December 1, 2019, between the Department of History, PSMO College Tirurangadi, Tirurangadi PO, Malappuram and the Office of Global Education, New York University Abu Dhabi to collaborate together in an exchange of knowledge in relation to Mappila culture including Mappila songs and performing arts. This will allow the students and faculties from the PSMO College to analyse the local culture and tradition by using a larger framework to provide deeper knowledge and practical experience with local culture and to promote the cultural interface among the students. Besides the collaborative activities, both the first party and second party would enhance the participatory approach among the students and faculties to understand the real strength of the local culture and tradition.

This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into on September 3, 2019, with Rolf Killius, Consultant (museums, exhibitions, and media), oral historian, exhibition curator, The scope of the MoU includes;
1. To promote a participatory approach among the students to engage with the local traditions.
2. To Provide accessibility to Kerala-based performance groups and Mappila singers around the Malabar region.
3. A collaboration on the topic of Mappila music. This includes preparing transcriptions of the melodies and rhythms of Mappila songs.
4. To produce audio-visual media on the folk culture of the region. This includes heritage site visits and detailed documentation for Ethnomusicological Archives.
5. To exchange ideas for the better preservation and conservation of local heritage culture.
6. Interaction with the students and faculties and promote cultural exchange programs as a part of academic discussions and seminars.
7. Generally this project tries to integrate the topics of oral history and ethnomusicology in the College’s syllabus.
Heritage Society
This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into on September 22, 2021, with Heritage society. The scope of the MoU includes the mission to document, conserve, and promotes tangible and intangible heritage through regular exploration, excavation, publications, and by undertaking research in the field of History and Heritage studies along with several innovative heritage awareness programmes.
