About the Department
Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1968 with a Pre-Degree I group course (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry). In 1972 the course was upgraded to under graduation in Mathematics with Statistics and Physics as subsidiary subjects. In 1980 the department was upgraded to a postgraduate Department. Since then, every year, the department offers UG and PG programmes along with certain certificate courses relevant to the discipline.
In addition to the regular teaching and learning process, the department also motivates the students for higher studies by imparting the knowledge and skills to crack various competitive exams. At present, the department consists of six faculty members of which four are seriously engaged in research activities.
