We, the Department of Chemistry, have decided to identify and form a group of prominent alumni who work either in academia or in industry and continue in the field of Chemistry. Many of them have got international experience and are aware of the significance of giving back to their parent institution where they have been shaped. Present students can benefit in their academic and professional careers by learning from senior alumni, getting to hear about interesting job opportunities and so on. In this non-financial initiative, we plan to organise a series of lectures by our prominent alumni members to motivate our present students and encourage them to opt for higher studies in the field of Chemistry.
The first lecture of the series is by Hamid P K, who was a graduate student of our department during 2014-17. He later moved to IIT, Jodhpur for his Masters and is at present pursuing a PhD in the prestigious University of Paris. The topic of his lecture is “Rechargeable Batteries and Sustainable Development”.
