Dr. Janeesha A.P. completed her M.Sc from St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri with first rank and PhD from the Department of Botany, University of Calicut. She started her carrier as an ad-hoc faculty in 2018. she has teaching experience of 3 years for the B.Sc and M.Sc students.
The area of research Interest of Dr Janeesha is Angiosperm Taxonomy and Molecular Systematics. She was selected for the Inspire Fellowship by DST (2012-13), KSCSTE Research fellowship for Botany-Taxonomy (2012) and Maulana Azad National Fellowship by UGC (2012-13). She qualified CSIR-UGC NET with all India rank 53. She won several national and international awards including the Topper award-2012 from the University of Calicut for securing the first rank in the M.Sc Botany examination (2012), Sibbald fellowship instituted by Sibbald Trust, Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, UK (2015), Fr. Antony Mukkath-K.S. Manilal Award of Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (2015) and Prof. Y.D. Tyagi Medal of Indian Botanical Society (2019).
Dr Janeesha has Have collaborated with world expertise of Gesneriaceae- Dr Michael Moller, Cytologist and Molecular Systematist, Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, UK and with Prof. Anton Weber, Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research, Faculty Centre Biodiversity, University of Vienna, Austria. She is sincere, knowledgeable, cooperative and open-minded. Passion for the subject, knowledge of the subject and noticing the potential of all students without prejudice are her strengths.
